Bob Hale purchased his first CNC Mill in the early 1980's. That Mill propelled BDE INC into a world of CNC Mill expertise unmatched by our competition. With 12 VMC/CNC Mills to choose from, BDE has the capacity to take your job from prototype to production.

BDE utilizes the most currant technology in cutting tools and tool holders in order to maximize cutting speeds, feeds and accuracies. Through innovation, adopting new technologies and cutting techniques BDE will remain a leader in our industry for many years to come.

In addition to our CNC Milling dept, our manual milling capabilities include 4 Bridgeport 9 X 42 mills and 2 Gorton vertical mills. BDE is also very proud of the fact that we buy American made machine tools. Over 90% of the machinery in our shop was made in the USA.

The fastest way to remove metal is on a large powerful CNC Lathe. This power coupled with radial and axial milling allows many complex parts to be machined in a single set up.

To supplement our CNC Lathes BDE utilizes 5 Hardinage HLVH Tool Room lathes and 1 Sheldon Tool Room lathe for prototyping and secondary turning operations.

BDE installed WIRE EDM in our plant in 1990. Believing that this technology was the single most significant development in metal cutting in many years, we have worked diligently to perfect the skills necessary to implement this technology in a variety of applications.

With the cutting speeds, surface finishes, and accuracies attained in today's WIRE EDM Machines, in addition to the ability to run in an unattended "Lights Out" environment, many parts that were once milled can be WIRE EDM'd more efficiently and with better quality.

With over 40 yrs. Tool and Machine Design BDE INC has the experience to efficiently take your job from conception through production.

BDE remains ahead of the technology curve by consistently upgrading our computer and networking systems, as well as our software. Our computers are state of the art P4 3.0 GHz machines operating on Windows XP. All workstations are fully networked to each other and the servers. The DNC server is capable of drip-feeding NC programs to 128 CNC machines simultaneously.

BDE utilizes 9 licensed seats of MasterCam Version X (10) CAD/CAM with programming capabilities up to 5 axis. With over 10 years of MasterCam programming experience, and company sponsored training, our staff is highly proficient in taking your job from the computer to the machine tool.
